Air vent cover

Brass Air vent cover

In the drawing room when we had removed all the false walls we discovered a large air vent in the corner under the window.

It is very important to let old buildings breathe. We had already encapsulated (sandwiched in double glazing units) the draughty stained glass windows and the floor was going to have insulation and be sealed so we felt it was important to leave the ventilation hole, but there was a real gale blowing through the hole. We plastered the walls and I set about trying to find an elegant solution.

This was our chosen solution, it is from cast in style. A brass air vent that can be open and closed.
