Glitter Ballroom

Glitter Ballroom

We have a tradesman’s entrance, which was later appropriated to be a fire exit. This narrow corridor is not a very useful space but it has one wall of beautiful stained glass. So what else could we do but turn it into a glitter ballroom. I think the inspiration was Mr Susan talking to Vince (Noel Fielding) in the Mighty Boosch

After using it as storage, we decided to make a bigger impact with the space.

We have loads of old 1930’s and 40’s mirrors which we have picked up in junk shops. We thought that by using the mirrors we could bring more light onto the stained glass, added to this we also have a giant mirror ball, which we received as a wedding present from my dad. We have transformed the space into a glitter mirrored ballroom. We bought a single spotlight from Ikea to shine on the glitterball and throw sparkles everywhere. It makes me smile every time I see it and is a great hit with all our toddler visitors who dance and spin around. It also makes the stained glass glow.
